Shasta Laboratory is a DCC & ISO 17025 certified state of the art testing Laboratory in the Bay Area.
We use LCUV to test for 12 different cannabinoids in our standard assay. We also have an extended cannabinoids list with more being added regularly. For the current extended list please ask our team.
We use LCMS to test for 5 different types of Mycotoxins. Mycotoxins are toxic compounds that are naturally produced by certain types of molds (fungi).
We use GCMS analysis to test for 20 residual solvents that can be found in concentrates and extracts after processing.
We use ICPMS to test for Heavy Metal contamination. This can be a concern in both cannabis and hemp flower and biomass as well as concentrates and extracts and in finished goods.
We use LCMS to test for pesticides. We test for pesticides according to California Standards.
We use PCR to test for Microbial Impurities. Testing is important to ensure that there are no harmful pathogens present.
MOISTURE CONTENT AND WATER ACTIVITY
Both moisture content and water activity are important in formulating products for safety and stability. (Water Activity = ratio of water vapor pressure of a substance such as food to the water vapor pressure of pure water under same conditions)
Soil testing is important for several reasons: to optimize crop production, to protect the environment from contamination by runoff and leaching of excess fertilizers.
hLVd also known as Hop latent viroid is an infectious plant pathogen that cause noticeable symptoms such as:
Reduced trichomes and oil production
Reduced flower mass
Malformation and/or chlorosis of the leave
