Hemp and Cannabis Testing Services

Shasta Laboratory is the Bay Areas new leader in third party testing
From DCC Regulations to USDA rule changes we are here to help!

Hemp is a low THC species of the cannabis plant and is grown under the guidance of the USDA (US Department of Agriculture and CDFA, CA Department of Food and Agriculture). Hemp is defined as any cannabis plant that tests below 0.3 percent THC. The 2018 Farm Bill removed hemp from the Controlled Substances Act (CSA), which previously had placed hemp along with other cannabis compounds in Schedule 1. Hemp flowers are the source of CBD, CBG, and other beneficial non-intoxicating cannabinoids. Test your hemp with us to ensure it is below the THC limit and if the products are full spectrum or zero percent THC with our extensive cannabinoid profile panel. We also have bundled services available called CBD Safety panels which test for contaminants and adulterants to ensure your hemp is clear of: Pesticides, Heavy Metals, Microbials and Mycotoxins .

Cannabis was legalized in California under Prop 64 in 2016.
Which allowed us to become a DCC accredited lab (license number C8-0000003-LIC) (formally known as BCC) authorizing us to conduct compliance testing on all cannabis within the state of California. We are now the Bay Areas leader in third party cannabis testing services on all stages of the cannabis plant. From plant tissue to flower, we are here to make sure your harvest was successful. We can also help you prevent things from going wrong with our HLVD testing services and accurate soil impurities testing . Our team of experts are also here to help guide your product development needs on concentrates, extracts, and infused based products. Let us take your cannabis to the next level! Now providing testing services to commercial operations, legacy growers and homegrown medical cannabis.

All stages, from crude to isolate, can be tested so you can measure the accuracy of your yields. We recommend testing any biomass or flower BEFORE you buy or extract so you know for sure what cannabinoid potency, contaminants, pesticides, heavy metals, and residual solvents you’re working with.

To ensure the best yield and cleanest products, test feedstock BEFORE you blend it into your infused products. Checking cannabinoid potency is important in product formulation. Pesticides, solvents, and microbials need to be tested before you blend and infuse to ensure safety. Test your finished products for cannabinoid potency (THCA, A-9 THC, CBDA, CBD) to determine the strengths of your products so you and your customers can dose properly and safely.
